WOT for Chrome is a lightweight Chrome extension built specifically for helping you navigate in a safer environment by revealing a rating for each website.

The add-on is able to collect information about websites and notifies you which ones are safe based on the ratings provided by an online community.

WOT for Chrome offers support for Chrome toolbar integration so you can easily access its functions.

It was developed with an overall simplicity in mind, so it runs quietly in the background without disturbing your online activity. Additionally, you can enable or disable the tool via Chrome’s Extensions panel.

WOT for Chrome displays a small icon next to your browser’s address bar which shows you the current website’s rating, namely green indicates a trustworthy site, yellow warns you to be cautious, while red means a dangerous website.

The ratings icons are also revealed next to the links on search engine results, media platforms, and other popular sites.

Also, if you happen to land on a website with a poor rating, WOT for Chrome automatically reveals a warning. You can skip the warning and continue navigating on the website or return to the previous page.

When it comes to configuration settings, you are allowed to select the level of protection (normal or light), and show all types of icons next to the links or only the ones indicating a poor reputation.

There are also some advanced parameters included in the tool that help you enable cookies to automatically log on the official website (provided that you have an account), display website ratings for search results in a popup window, as well as select the sites (e.g. Bing, Google, Gmail).
